life is...

beautiful, cruel, amazing, stupid, miraculous, unfair, awesome, a pain, joyful, sad, peaceful, destructive.....

life is different for everyone.

life is always changing. perhaps that's why we can't predict our future.

people always ask, "what is the meaning of life?" get an education, work, grow old, and die? that's it? there's has got to be more to life than that right? i believe the things you do, and the people you're with can change your perspective on life.

i also think that living is like going through a routine, wake up, go to college, go for classes, come back, finish your assignments, sleep. the only thing different is by being with your friends. their unpredictable and they're all fun.

so let's all have tonnes of friends and enjoy life. who knows, we may really be dying in 2012.

love?

nope. not human love between the opposite sex. human love towards animals. im sick of hearing about people abusing their pets. why would they keep a pet if they can't love it?

i don't think animal lovers should hit their pets too when it does something wrong. for example, you can spray water at cats or dogs if they did something wrong. im am all out against animal abuse.

we have pets such as cats, dogs, hamsters, rat, snakes, and much more for companion and love. like humans, animals make mistakes too(peeing on your rug..etc) but once you've trained it, it doesn't do it anymore.

so let's all give animals a chance! they're loyal and loving to us, stop beating em'!

A woman's language=D

9 WORDS WOMEN USE

1. Fine : This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

2. Five Minutes : If she is getting dressed, this means a 1/2 hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

3.
Nothing : This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.

4.
Go Ahead : This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!

5.
Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to #3 for the meaning of nothing.)

6.
That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

7.
Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or Faint. Just say you're welcome.

8.
Whatever: Is a women's way of saying
F@CK YOU!

9.
Don't worry about it, I got it :Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking 'What's wrong?' For the woman's response refer to #3.

-Getting the Wrong Meaning-

sorry.. accidently posted an empty post.. ^^

Have anyone had over come when you're communicating, you're saying something that is totally different by the understanding from the other person?

Yesterday, when I was talking with my friends about our plannings for vacation, on the phone, when we were planning it on the phone. We were chatting over it for approximately 30 mins. Guess what, as we are planning, my friend missunderstood that I was saying that vacation plan for fun, which is my dreams. haha!

In that time, I was like stunned. Was reallt shocked that she actually did not take my words seriously, and I've got to repeat everything once more. *sight*

-Getting the Wrong Meaning-

concerts

the best thing about going to rock concerts is letting go of yourself. no more rules on how to act. no judgement. no more stress. just you being you.

a great way of relieving stress and giving a big F you to the world. you scream your hearts out, u get to be violent too(by pushing people around).

i've been to quite a few concerts and i shall give you some tips on how to survive.. especially if you're in the mosh pit.

1. if you're with a friend. never let go of their hand.. if you do, you are sure to be seperated.
2. now is not the time to be nice. cut through the people to get in front! be smart though. dn go cut scary people's place
3. always sneak in water. or buy water before the concert starts.
4. dont get too excited when the opening act begins. it's a waste of energy. seriously.remember, you only have limited amount of water.
5. you've got to be violent.. jump on people's feet. PUSH the people.
6. always ALWAYS wear sport shoes or sneakers
7. DONT wear skirts.. you insane?
8. there's a high possibility you may get groped.. like how i did.. perverted people have no life. know how to handle the situation
9. you may get pickpocket so you should know how to take care of your belongings.
10. if you have a bag with you, always keep it near your body. when people starts pushing, your bag may get stuck somewhere in between someone's body.
11. be careful when you fall. you may get trampled over(i almost did). always watch your footing. the ground is NOT even.
12. you can use the balloons or cardboard stuff they give to hit people. when you piss them off enough, they'll let you go infront. again, attack the innocent young people.
13. KNOW the lyrics. it's so much more fun when you know it.
14. do not dance in the mosh pit!! you're just pissing people off
15. when everyone starts jumping, push your way up front! be warned tho, it gets really crazy when that happens. time to let the psycho part of you out and PUSH!
16. when you have problem breathing with the amount of carbon dioxide around, tip toe, look up and breathe, or look down and breathe.
17. when it rains, do NOT wear the raincoat they give.
18. if you do want to be in front, wait at least 6hours before the concert starts. and when you have given your ticket, RUN in to get a good spot.
19. know where your favourite band member always stands. wait there
20. you will not remain where you are standing. you may find yourself goin more to the left, right or front(if you're violent) or back(if you let people push you around)
21. when you're stuck somewhere in the middle of the crowd, you might as well go all the way back as you will not see anything. so go back and sit on the ground or headbang at the back.
22. bringing in signs and banners is a pain in the butt. you better not bring any.
23. acting sick so you can get in front is STUPID. cause i n other people'll use that opportunity to cut your line
24.acting all bitchy in there will piss people off. you should understand that people there are all socially challenged and rejected. leave your i-need-attention attitude behind.
25. stand beside a guy so that when the crowd begins to push, you wont get affected much.
26. HAVE FUN! push, stomp, sing, scream, jump, dehydrate, sweat, curse, meet new people and pray for the rain.

non-verbal

For this weekend, I was crazy about some cartoons like Mr. Bean, Tom and Jerry. These movies are non-verbal. Was sitting in front of thr TV for hours just to watch it. I was funny and nice!

Some people will think that it is boring to watch it because they do not speak. throughout the movie they will just use their action to do the talking. It actually brings out meaning!

The chasing between tom and jerry and the actions they did it was totally funny and we can see how creative is it! Mr. Bean, we can see that he's using his action to tell people something. He does have emotions.

2012

are we really going to die in 2012? it seems so weird to have people tell you it's the end of the world. so much for the whole vision 2020 huh? lol.

someone asked me this question once, "what would you do if you found out it's the end of the world tomorrow?" i answered, "i'll shoot myself." i don't know why she glared at me though.

if the world were to end tomorrow, and instead of awaiting for my death(probably in a painful manner), i'd rather end my sufferings now. i don't have to,

1. think about my oncoming doom
2. think too much about how i would die
3. suffer
4. fight for survival(hellooo!! it's the end of the world. die already! shoots some random person)

lol. sorry. but honestly, what would you do if it was the end of the world tomorrow? make amends with the people you've hurt? say your goodbyes? pray to god and ask for forgiveness?

think about it.

my playlist

PEOPLE OF THE WORLD!! i have my own playlist of songs i want you guys to play fro me when im dead. yes, i have my own funeral playlist and i don't get what's so weird about it. i've had one ever since i was in form 4.

when you die in an abrupt tragedy where you can't say your goodbyes, it's always nice to have a substitute. the songs i've put in are ways for me to say goodbye and for you guys to move on. i guess, you can say it's so that i don't have to linger around the world too. (you know what they say about ghosts wandering around because of unfinished business).

so yes, i believe having a playlist for your funeral is good. i strongly encourage you guys to have one too. like i said, it's a way to tel your goodbyes and tell them all you're in a better place now(even if you're not).

also, when i die, please tell my family i have this playlist. :)

let's enjoy living now.

Fear to be on stage!!

There are many skills to public speaking.

For me, I am afraid to be on stage.. sometimes, when I was in the stage, i would come to a stage that i could forget everything and my legs would shiver like no body business..!

To be on stage, it is a oportunity to allow us to speak out our opinion. It isthe time for us to know how to manage our audiences bt not letting them to overlead us. We should also get thier attention to listen to what we are talking.

To gain their attention is not that easy, is to make them feel interested to our topic adnd make them laugh by not letting them get bored of our speech. It is simple practice practice and practice.. The skills of public speaking.. it should be practiced and the preparation of it is also important..

How you act. How you talk, How you express. It all judge how good are you in presenting speech.

scares me~! think too much...

went for he halloween party from Help..

That night was a BLAST!! It was really fun tho.. ^^

On that night, soo mae, miki n I.. We were late for that halloween party.. We dont have time to make up and so, we've planned to do that in the car.. lols..

Knowing that the party had started, we tried to rush and juz simply have some draws on our faces for us to look as ugly as possible! As we were making up, our dear friends sneaked out from that party, without us konwing about that.
They planned to scare us with thier attire for that night.. and that did it!!

At first, we were in the car, so busy that we didnt even noticed that they are out there to scare us! they actually hit the car and tried to shake it.. we 3 girls were scare! we were shouting like mad girls over there feeling that there's a real ghost in that party..! we were afraid.. screaming and screaming!

They actually knocked on our door and came into the car to catch us! and guess what, I was scare till my tears rolled down.. Their face look so ugly and scary! congrats to them.. managed to scare us till someone cried!

halloween

the beauty of halloween? you can be anyone you want to be. you want to be a frankenstein, superman, witch, drag queen, mummy, cupid........... the list is endless!

it's the time where you let out your creativity, and just go wild. wild with the costume and makeup. it would be cool if we had trick or treat here too. who doesn't want free candies?

i don't think we can judge people on the way they dress here though. my sister's friend dressed up as the digi yellow man. what can you say about him? that he uses digi? it's most likely that he just wants to dress up as one.

like i said, halloween gives us an opportunity for our imagination to go wild. bring on the fangs, i'm gonna be a vampire.. kkkhhhhhhh!!

dressings.

people are mostly judged by the way they dress-colour and style.

i tend to dress according to my mood and i believe, many others too. sometimes, im just too darn lazy to get ready so i just slap on a shirt and jeans. the day i did that, everyone assumed i was sick cause i dressed pretty sloppy. funny thing how people judge you on the way you dress.

i think all of us start stereotyping people based on the way they dress. in movies, like those american high schools, you can see how they potray stereotypes. the geeks sit together, cheerleaders and jocks are in another table, the asians in one table and so on.

i think it all comes down to the way they dress. you want to fit in a certain clique, you dress the part then start acting like them. however, you're just deceiving yourself. i don't get all the point of cliques though. what gives the "better people" freedom to bully others? so let's all forget the whole, "oh my god, im a cheerleader, i like so can't be like seen with those loooserss" thing. peace!

~group 2

Recalled that last week my group and I was doing a short clip for human communication about non-verbal communication. IT WAS SUPER FUNNY!!

At first we were thinking of what should we do.. what scene would be nice and funny to show out. Our group gave everyone a chance to speak out about what should we do, and to sum up all of our opinions, we used every little part of our way.

We've planned to do a short clip about a guy having affair with two girls. It was super funny. We were laughing in every part and scene we were doing. It was totally a BLAST! We girls were so shy to confront Nigel-was the only guy in our group who is having affair with Lisa and I..

Our group which is formally is a tasks group has actually become a social group. We've tried very hard to help each and other without putting our marks the first. I lost love this group! It was Wonderful!! Thank you Mr. Murali for assigning us into groups by not allowing us to assign our group ourselves! haha.. AWESOME~~

~Kelly Tan~

~groups...

Finding out that social group is actually more interesting than task or project group. That's my opinion for it..

Who do I prefer social group? That is because I can experience many different things and even work and learn at that same time. We can also have the chance to get to know more and get closer with your friends. There's somehow a word called "fun" for social group!

The purpose of it is of course not just fun but to satisfy social needs and to serve. It is also the common form of group. We can form it anywhere we want as long as we have friends gathering together with us.

Whereas, task group is also important. We are to accomplish tasks given. Everyone has a role in it and must be responsible towards it or else we'll be kicked out!! Task group in important because in it, we could learn more and learn to communicate with strangers that is in our group. If we do have interaction problems, this group will be a failure!

I've been to a leadership camp which is I do not know anyone in there. By this I do learnt a lot. Important things that I've learnt is to communicate well and have a good impression towards the other membesr so that our team could work well and they'll turn up by liking us.

lines for you.. part 2.

1. i can't come. my pet rock died
2. i don't need to "get a LIFE". im a gamer, i have lots of lives.
3. i did not escape. they gave me a free pass
4. you're so stupid, you threw a rock on the ground and missed.
5. you're a nice little reminder that im not the most retarded.
6. a clean house is a sign of a broken computer.
7. never go to bed angry. stay up and plot your revenge.
8. teacher: look, this equation is simple. if i have 5bottles in one hand, and 6bottles in the other, what do i have?
student: a drinking problem?
teacher: NO! THE ANSWER IS 11 BOTTLES!! 11!!
student: that's still a lot, you should look into counselling.

instructions

during exams, does anyone really read the instructions? or do they just do the paper? perhaps some of you will only read the instructions for the essay questions to know how many you need to do. but the multiple choice questions, true/false and short answers, do you really read the instructions?

i guess we don't read instructions because we already know what to do. after all, we've been doin this since we were young. so why waste ink and space for instructions?

i guess for some people, they don't know that you need to put their answers in the box given or the MCQ sheet. they just assume that you circle yr answers and that's it. so ladies and gentleman, (if you have nothing to do or it's your habit) just read the instructions. it's... fun.

I'm so Low and Now I'm NOT !!

Last time, during my secondary age, I used to always lower down myself. That is because I do think that others is better than me..

On the past, I do afraid to reach out to people. I will choose to hide myself if I can. I do not even dare to talk or face the outside world. It is scary tho..

After all this, I started to notice that this cant go on anymore, I must stand up because I think that everyone have their right to choose their life..

I'm not now! because of the thinking that I had and God has changed me. Because of all this, my life start to change.. Low Self-esteem kills! do not fall on it..

During Presentation..

Presentation.. gosh! I have stage fear!!!

Everytime when come to the time that I do need to do presentation, I will be fearing it because, many many times I do not know how to attract or catch the audiences' attention. I could be nervous, super nervous when I'm out there to speak.

and so, I do refered back to some references that can guide me on my stage fear. On stage, the eye contact with the audiences' is very important and also the gestures that you're showing is equally important. The eye contact, your eye movement and facial expression is a must do during presentation. The gestures, how you react on something and when you speak, how your hand moves, does it shows to people that you're nervous or scare? Cover It Up..! We must not show to our audiences' that we're afraid of it. Overcome it!

It is important to show them that we're not afraid and we shall talk by having the faith in us..

~Kelly Tan~

~Racism~

It is somehow a sensitive issue to talk about obout races.

For me, I do understand that every cultures have their own very rules to follow on. We on the other side of them should be respecting them!

But... actually, someties I tend to "dislike" the other races because of some other culture of friends that I have did hurt my feelings. Because of them I started to get more racist..! I shouldn't be doing this right?

It's a good thing that I've started to learn and try to love them because no matter how, we're still living in the same "roof" which is the same country. Forget the hurts and learn to love them, we might not know maybe they just don't intend to do so but are forced? To be racist is really not a good thing. That is because when you saw that particular other culture person, you tend to get annoyed and this kind off feeling is totally BAD!!

I do rather learn from now to love them than hating them.. haha!

~Kelly Tan~

Nonverbal Messages

Always we can see that we're using nonverbal message to communicate. As we can see that it is very important for us to do so.

Every movements that we did during communicating with others will actually let people catch whether are you interested in that particular topic or otherwise.

Body lauguage.. for the couples, friends, family and more. Most of the time we use our boby to do the communication.

Take the couples for example.. Often they will use more on their action and eyes to show their love. The eye contact, when they're looking into each and other, they'll understand what the other half want to tell them.

just for listening pleasure

i know quite a few people who listen to korean and japanese songs. though they don't understand what they're saying, they still listen and they can be fans of the bands. and when i say "fans" i mean, HUGE fans. whether it's for the looks or the songs, i don't know.

my friend also made me listen to some japanese and korean songs. they're pretty pop-ish and well, not really my type. but i must say, some of them(the band member) really are cute.

i have to say though, they do have good songs. i became a fan, well, not really a fan but i did like a singer called Hyde. he sings pretty calming music. though i don't understand the lyrics, it's just nice to listen to it.

a good thing about not understanding the language is that you don't really focus on what they're singing about. you just listen to their voice and music. ahhh.. Hyde's singing is pretty sexy.

presentations

before presentations, i get butterflies in my stomach, i get really cold, i must move around, my armpits and palms sweat a lot too. i know, it's disgusting. which is why i need a long/3/4 sleeve shirts and shirts that don't show me sweating. i believe everyone has their own reaction when they are about to present. perhaps excitement for those who like to speak.. me on the other hand, be it nervous or calm, i still have the same symptoms.

when the lecturer calls my name for my turn to present, it feels like my heart stopped beating for a second, and starts pumping really fast. walking up front makes my leg shiver. putting the pendrive in the com also makes my hand shiver. i must say, i wasn't actually nervous at that time but i still shiver.

another stage fright i hav is well, blushing. one of the most embarrassing thing to have because everyone will know. solution, makeup! to bad i don't like using foundation. however, bring on the eyeliner! :)

to sum it up, everyone has their own weakness or fears in life. they just cover it up really well.

~CONFLICT~

Conflict. Saying of this words many people dont like it and they always avoid it, especially MAN and I dont know why?

Having a canflict is actually a good thing to have. Why? Cause by facing the conflict it help you to understand more about the peron and vice versa. But unfortunately, many people choose to avoid it. And this what make thing go wrong. when we avoid a conflict we are not sloving the problem, we are just putting the problem to one side and this is very dangerous when one of them cant stand it anymore and explode it all out. Conflict is just like a bom, it was suppose to be explode. When it dont and was put aside it will become dangerous. It will become more dangerous when the bom that left aside are a lots. One day, when one of the bom explode, it will cause the others to explode too and by that time, the explosion wil be very powerful......

So, whenever there is a conflict, just face it and dont avoid it........ Facing conflict is goood~~~~~and relationship that got no conflict is bad, really bad, cause there must be something gone wrong with that relationship............

~Love Love Love~

Eros Love is Love where both of you are attracted to each other beauty and sensuality. Ludic Love is love where you like excitement of being together. Storge Love is love where you feel peaceful, and you feel comfortable with that person. Pragma Love is practical and traditional. Agapic Love is love where you put your lover at the first place. It is selfless. All this kinds of love can be develop from one kind to the others.

Have you ever think off the kind of love that you and your love having? Do you know what kind of love that you bath having? If you do know, maybe, just maybe that when you break up with him/her, you would not feel that hurts. Example, if you know know that your love with your lover is Eros Love, maybe....you will not feel that hurts........

Birds

Just about a week ago I was alone at home... I was out in front of
the house, on the porch. I was reading a book and when I paused I noticed a bird. It was a small yellow feathered bird with a sweet tune. It See full size imagewas clinged to my grandmothers flower pot having its fill. Then it flew to my neighbours flowers and fed on them. This got me to realise that there was a time when we had used birds to deliver our mail and messages, especially during mid evil times and wars. The only place I see this now is in my 2nd favourite movie…Harry Potter. I love those owls, their sense of loyalty and efficiency just appeals to me. I wonder if its possible for us today to use birds for the purpose of communication…..according to my research, there is a place in Ireland that still uses such a mode for communication.

World of music!!!

One of the world’s largest entertainments industries is the music industry. Music in itself, just like every thing else has developed and adapted to time and change. Artist over the years have used their music as a mode of communication. Bob Marley believed that we could literally cure racism by injecting love and passion into music. This man even died for this cause. This is actually an interesting fact that shows how far people would go to communicate, to deliver a message to the world. Bob Marley was not the only artist to in pact the world with music and communication, we also have John Lennon, Beyonce, Jim Brickmen, Rod steward, Micheal Jackson and the list goes on. These few that I have mentioned are some of the legends, they used their fame and ability to communicate to world leaders and men with power to make a difference and make a change. They made a difference. We should always look at the man in the mirror!

if animals could speak...

they would most likely say that? i find animals really interesting and knowing what they say would be amazing! seriously, i can imagine all the things a cat could say like, "who ate my fish!?"

though we can't understand what animals are saying, we can understand what they're feeling or what they want. take a cat for example(sorry, i have cats at home so i know their behaviour) when a cat sways its tail gently or doesnt move at all, it doesn't indicate much. but when a cats tail twitches violently, it shows that its angry or annoyed and it may bite. the different kind of "miaw" is also asking for something.
and of course, when a cat purrs, it's a sign of contentment, or happiness.

to sum it up, though we may not understand what animals are saying, we should learn the signs to know what they're feeling.

crazy lines, just for you

1. i will stab you with a SPOON!

3. my imaginary friend thinks you have serious mental problems
4. WAZZZAAAPP
5. i didn't lose my mind. it's right at home, sitting next to my common sense
6. you're a great friend. but if zombies start chasing us, im tripping you.
7. automatic doors make me feel like a jedi!
8. i don't have an anger problem, i have an idiot problem.
9. when nothing goes right. go left.

It Kills!~

It kills.. It really kills.. Why am I saying so? I'm saying this does not mean by the real killing but as in words that comes out from people's mouth sometimes kills!

These people are usually in the mood of anger do depression or sometimes they might be those people who is childish by talking without considering and thought of others feeling. It is cruel. because of those words that kills people, sometimes the other party might have low self-esteem and sad because of the words or comment that comes out from us. We might be the murderer for their life. We also might ruin their life. Think before you Speak!!

Words that are used to describe word kills are "Face-enhansing" and "Verbal Aggressiveness". Be caution when you start to communicate with people. Many times, during argueing, words that are really "ugly" do come out from both party's mouth. We tend to use words to demolish and damage people. All these, we should learn to be more tolerating, do not hurt people's feeling by face-enhanse and verbal aggresive. This will really get people into a mood whereby they will though of their life is priceless, and also will kill them as in in their future. They might be ashame to face the world especially when we scold them in the crowd. Think of if the one is you? Would you feel embarased?

>> Communication between Gender <<

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wcRuIsWdsks

Always when come to some conflict issues, which gender do you think will be best to face it in a proper way? Men? women?

Well, no matter how there're something do really exist which is the "Gender Difference" . Men and women is somehow different in the sense of their emoticon.

When coming to conflicts, men will usually will be the weaker one. Why so? That is because many times men doesn't know how to control their feelings by being patient and listen to others opinion. Men choose to avoid certain problems and also come to a face-saving situation. They would not want to drop down their dignity. They usually tend to change their topic so that they will get off from problems. Does this actually helps???

Besides that, when come to the women, during conflicts, they're more responsible in it. They choose to sit down and discuss about the issues. They will sit down an talk about it to find out solutions and so solve certain conflict.

Lastly, in my opininon, women will rather be the best to talk with and women will be the best when come to problem solving. Whereas, for men, sometimes it is good for human to avoid conflicts because sometimes we just don't want it to get worst!

Are we truly alone?

All the talk about communication, while relating it to phones and satellites and etc. what about we look to the beyond of communication. Let’s look to the “outer space”. Movies like E.T, Aliens, Star wars and all these movies where we notice communication with different species from an entirely different planet. Now wouldn’t that be something!! All this hit me while watching the latest cartoon movie release “Aliens in the attic “. To believe that parents say watching movies can’t help our education. I always wonder what we could expect from the world beyond. Are we truly alone in the universe?? If we’re not, what would it be like to establish a degree of communication with them?

By Carmeni Serine

Satelite

Another tool which contributes to communication here on earth would be the satellite. It’s an object that gives life to the cell phone, internet, news, and etc. there are certain facts about the satellites which I thought would be “cool” to highlight. The first artificial satellite, Sputnik 1, was launched by the Soviet Union in 1957. By 2009 thousands of satellites had been launched into orbit around the Earth. These originate from more than 50 countries and have used the satellite launching capabilities of ten nations. A few hundred satellites are currently operational, whereas thousands of unused satellites and satellite fragments orbit the Earth. These are the satellites which give life to a majority of tools which we use for communication. These are basic facts which we as teenagers need to know not as a criteria but as general knowledge.

surroundings

well, the last few classes ago, mr murali said something about us listening to some strangers around us speak. so i tried that out one day. this is my report on how it went.

in the lrt- people seem dead. no conversations within them. there was however an indian guy standing, and listening to his music.. and singing along to it.

in the bus- a couple being all lovey-dovey.. yucks.. spare me the details!

in secret recipe- two upperclass women(with their designer handbags, clothes and accent) were speaking about their children's education. and gossping about some people.
in a record shop- this was weird "yang(short for sayang), ni.. i suka band ni." bf replies, "nyanyi lagu apa punya?" gf, "uh. tak tau la nama dia."

i literally burst out laughing. oops.

ok. pros and cons bout listening to unknown people's conversations? you get to listen to weird conversations. cons, you get to know unwanted and boring details. bring on my ipod baby, i'd rather listen to music than hear people talking.

Phatic Msg!!!

Omg!! It's really a kill time whenever during communication especially during on the phone with someone where suddenly the both of us have nothing to talk about and we just kept quite for some moment. ~feeling weird~

Last week, when I've got a sudden call from my secondary girl-friend. We've not been meeting for a couple of months. missing her so muchie!!

We've been chatting over the phone and it was a midnight! We've been chat chat and chat for an hour. It came to this very moment that we felt so awkward. We have nothing to talk about, I was trying to dig out something to talk about, was really thinking what are we suppose to chat about next. It came to a few minutes that we both were quiet ~it was weird tho...i was quite bored at that moment.. haha.. shhh..

All of the sudden, it came out that we both sing all of the sudden.. haha! =laughted like a mad girls!=   That we were also talking about why do human act like this? We were chatting over it..

Perhaps, this is what human usually do whenever that have nothing to say.. which is called the "Phatic Message"

Observing People

Observing people's talking, action, and more is some form of getting to know them more as in we do know how do they react in certain condition.

"Resist the temptation to draw conclusion from nonverbal behaviors", we need to take time to observe that particular person. Sometimes, we can see that during communicating with people outside there, many many different characters will come out from someone. All these are nonverbal communication.

Talking about nonverbal communication, with the eyes that people look at you and the reaction that people gives you means something. We might just ignore some person by not looking at that person's eyes when they're communicating with us.

By taking time to observing that particular person, lastly, we can connect and relate all things that we observed.

social networking

almost everyone now has facebook. whether its facebook, myspace, friendster, etc. it all serves the same purpose. meet new people, meet old friends. you can chat there, play games, check out bands, and so many more! there's so much you can do on those sites.

in a way, these social networking sites are a great way for people who dont and do meet up often to communicate. it's practically free! no money spent unlike smses.

though it may be all good, it does have some cons. some people can get addicted to these stuff. regardless whether it's facebook or twitter. some just have to keep updating their status. and some can't even function well if they dont check their pages. scary.

so boys and gals out there. please dont get addicted to them. though it may be fun to see someone with this kinda addiction. im kidding.....

Give and take Situation

How vital is communication here in Malaysia? What do we expect form Malaysia? In my recent blogs I’ve highlighted communication as a global tool. What role does it play for us as a multi religious community? Well most importantly will be to notice the different languages. Therefore being cautious while conversing is important. The best part about Malaysia is that we’re so comfortable with the many races that communicating has become no issue, but rather the communication between leaders here…….well that’s another issue!!! Basically everything we do involves communication. It’s a major factor in just about everything. This shows that it is very vital to us. What’s most important to us is delivery of that communication. There have been issues where even our political leaders had miscommunication with foreign leaders. It’s rather embarrassing when we read about these things happening. However for us citizens, we find a way to make do with the diversity and the culture. We respect and honour one another. It’s a broad give and take situation

Cellphone

I’ve mention in my earlier posting few weeks earlier regarding cell phones being a major part of history and evolution as well. I’d like to dwell further on cell phone as a important tool in communication. I picked cell phones cause it’s the most essential and most used tool. We notice nowadays that cell phones are being used by everyone, the young the old the middle aged and not to mention the teens. Its become a necessity for us all in this century as a tool of communication. Its boundaries grow wider and become limit less as time goes on. Communication using a cell phone has expanded widely. Initially used for simple calling, now it has video calling via 3G, video mms, “sms”, voice sms…..and it keeps going. All this, done for the good of communication and for the better of the future. The world becomes a little smaller with each breakthrough as connection between countries become easier and more flexible. How effective communication has been to us throughout the years.

Diversity of communication

Since the topic of communication I’ve been having an open mind to explore all around and try to relate it to the topic given. Communication is global. Its also a tool that makes the world go round. Imagine a world without communication…..only one word comes to mind…..chaos!! we would have the coordination and relations between countries. Our whole system that governs countries rely on communication. On the other hand what we do have is language, the different language used as a mode of communication. The world has been filled with different languages. Some even extinct and some in code, but never the less beautiful art that we practice. This issue became aware to me while I was in the “mamak” with my boyfriend. It was actually he who had pointed out the different languages that was being used and echoing around the restaurant. Its was amazing to share that with him and I had to share it in the blog. There is amazing diversity right here in Malaysia. We’re blessed to share such diversity through communication. We really should try to notice as most of us teenagers spend a lot of our time at the “mamak”.

Tarzan

Communication as a whole is mainly related to interaction between persons. However my last visit to the zoo got me thinking about a whole different scenario. I was actually walking past the bear cage, as I looked in I noticed the female bear all lone looking like the weight of the world was on her shoulder….that reminded me of my uncle who’s like that all the time. Then I started wondering, if only they could communicate with us and share their view on life. Wouldn’t that be something. It doesn’t exist as we know till today. We can however train animals to respond to us but not converse. Which brought me to the idea of “Tarzan”….what a good movie that was., a man running around the jungle making friends with the wildlife. Amazing thought to share with the world. If we could communicate with animals…..what would they tells us???

Culture...

Noticing that Malaysia is surrounding with different cultures. Learning to respect every of it is very important. There're lots of types of communication in a multiculture country.

Somehow, sometimes our language, sing-language and more is a lot different of other culture. Even that for other country, the way we communicate is also different. Some words or gastures that we're showing has different meaning to another culture.

Communicating with other culture is a way to built relationship and to get to know more about that particular culture. for me, I would like to know more about other culture so that I'll not get culture shock if I travel to different countries.

To know more about other culture we should fine out more about them and most of all communicating with them is also important.

~Ageism~

After the previous human communication lecture, I found out that there is a kind of discrimination that most of the adults have it, which is ageism. Most of the adults will dicriminate people who are younger than them.

People who are older always ignore what the younger one say. Cause they think they are older and if they can't think about something good how could a younger one can. I rember when I was small, I was taught not to talk or give any opinion duing the adults are talking. It is actaully a bad idea, cause sometimes even a kids also can give a very good ideas. =)

Adults!!!! Please learn to listen to the kids..........=)

~Listen~

Do you ever try to listen to what people next to you are talking about when you are in a train or in any public places? No?

I always do that.
Everytime when i'm in the public, I will listen to what people around me are talking about. Sometimes I will feel bad to do that, cause it make me feel like spying on other people privacy. But I still like to do it cause it is quite fun and usefull you know. I actually can learn alot form listening to them. I lcan learn lots of stuff that I dont know and sometimes I can get "NEWS" from listening to them. Listening to how other people talks also allow me to learn to communicates with other people.

If you never do that, why dont you try it one day. You will actually feel funny when you listen to what other people say. There will be people who gossip about other people, people who complain about their family and boss. There are also people who will talk about the latest news and there will also people who about their relationships.
Next time remember ya, listen to what people around you are talking about. =)

= Self-denigration =

Every human actually do have a little egoistic attitude in them. Do you agree? hmmm.. it's ok if one doesn't really agree in what I'm saying, again, it's my point of view. No offence yea.^.^

Why do I say that? That is because, everytime during communication or certain work is successfully done, majority of people would actually feel so nice that they've achieved that high. They might sometimes think of crediting themselves and do promote themselves. Of course, we cannot say that everyone does that.

What's the point of crediting yourself? Well, to be honest, sometimes I did that too.was ashame to say this.. haha.. I feel that it might feel nice and proud to credit yourself sometimes but do we ever think of actually people around us (working together with us), do we think before to give them this credit? We should actually! they're apart of us, without them, we might not be able to achieve in whatever we wanna do.

To conclude this, we shall promote ones accomplishment. It might either motivate them to target themselves higher! Again, always remember that self-denigration is however good to no where if we do continue doing it. We will actually get people annoyted.

Ghost Hunters

i really enjoy watchin ghost hunters and a haunting. ever heard of communication with ghosts? it really is interesting. i don't mean the kind where they start summoning ghost to pop up and all but i mean like how the ghost hunters does it.

1st, they try to talk to it like "is there anyone here with us? if there is, will you make a sound, etc.."
n if they dont respond, they start to provoke it with stuff like "dude, you a chicken? can't even make any noises for us? im glad you died, etc.." usually when they start provoking, the ghosts start replying.. awesome huh?

sometimes, they use a recorder. most of the times, when the paranormal try to communicate, you can't hear it. though some may be loud and you can catch it on camera. there was one episode which the ghost started saying "you don't belong here". ehehe. but sometimes in the recorder, you can hear lots of amazing stuff.. some voice are scary as hell, some are soft, there are laughs, one was even a sound of a person gaspin for air, etc. really really cool.

there's also a device they use which is called k2 meter. it's a device that can "sense" the paranormal and when it does, the lights will start blinking. ghost hunters would ask stuff like "are you a female? and if yes, plz step in front of this device." most of the time, the ghosts would actually respond. one of the most creepy questions asked was "are you lonely?" and it replied yes.

they also use digital thermometers to see the rapid drop or incresement in the atmosphere. as they explore the place, some of them bring along a thermal camera. to me, that's one of the best equipment because it can see the differences in certain spots such as a colder n and a hotter spot. so sometimes, an image of a human will suddenly come on the screen though no one was there.
i guess communication doesn't just stop at human interacting with human huh? :)

anyone interested in watching ghost hunters, it's on wednesday, 10pm, channel 711.

ask for directions? no way.

ah. the classic topic of men asking for direction. a big NO NO. must be some kind of unwritten rule in men.

well, certain women too don't ask for directions. take me and my friends for example.

we were supposed to go to subang. take the ktm dere, reach dere, a fren will pick us up. simple. but NOOOO. we went straight to a train without checkin out the directions properly(most likely cause the train was already dere, ran in and smiled) after a few stations, BAM! we realized we were heading to Seremban instead. we kinda flipped out and a lady sitting nearby was kind enough to point out the obvious. yes, we know we were headed the wrong direction. thanks for your help anyway.

got out, waited for a train to return to kl sentral. and got into the right train. this time, i ASKED for directions.. it would have made life much easier today if we just asked someone if we were heading to the right place.

yes yes. asking for directions can save time, energy and money. so guys and gals out there, ASK FOR DIRECTIONS! don't be shy. put aside your pride or ego or whatever and just ask. people out there... or some people out there are willing to help. so let's all do ourselves a favor and start asking for directions. communication goes a looong way.

hari raya

well, i've been busy visting some people's house for raya and i must say, i love the atmosphere in open houses. everyone is happy, there's somehow limitless amount of food, lotsa cookies, and lotsa people.

though there were many races there, communication was still easy. everyone spoke in english. *evil laughs. thank god for that!* the older people made jokes bout their teenage children, the younger children sat in front of the tv watchin the little mermaid, a group of family was singing some raya songs. the atmosphere like i said, absolutely enjoyable.

if they were to start speaking in a language i didnt know, i would probably seclude myself from the crowd. or perhaps, many others too.

to sum it up, language does play an important role in communication. the first step to communication? understanding what they're saying. :)

cool.. you can change the colour..

inconsiderate

well, first of all, sorry but my last week's blog will be posted now. internet problems.

ok. so last week, (still in the puasa month), i took the bus to go home. it was after 5pm thus a lot of people were on board. i must say, i was really hungry at that time and i totally forgot that the muslims were fasting. i ate 2 subway cookies on the bus while everyone stared at me.

this is what happened:

me: *munchin away on my cookie*
friend: ey, don't eat here la.
me: why? im very hungry
friend: SEE! (she actually tried to show me the people on the bus glaring at me)
me: (stupidly sees the "NO EATING" sign) so?
*in my defense.. she tries to point to the people using her head. somehow she seems to be pointing at the sign instead of the people.*

and that's it. to make it worse, i drank water in front of 'em.

after we reached the destination, my friend asked me again why i ate on the bus. THEN, i found out that they were fasting. i completly forgot! oopsie.

it occured to me then that sometimes, we may be disrespectful to others without knowing it. it could be a lack of knowledge in ones culture or erm.. being forgetful. SORRY!!

since we live in a multi racial country, we should always respect others and be alert at all times.. unlike me. again, sorry everyone on the bus!

Important? Not important?

Language is one of the most important things in communication. Without a language, it is hard for you to send your message a cross to another person. Imagine that you have to use body language to send every ideas that you need to send across to someone. It is hard right? So that is why a language is important.

We Malaysian actually learn quite lots kind of language compare to the others country. We learn three kinds of language and most of the other countries learn only one kind of language. But now a days it is getting more and more countries that encourage people to learn more than one kind of languages.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrv7D9bMz_4

In the video, the boy actually somewhat criticizing his dad. But his dad don’t seems to understand it? Why? Because his dad don't understand the language that his son are using.

After watching the video, what do you think? Is it necessary to learn more than one language? Yes? No? I don’t know, it is up to you all………..=)

~Primary Communication~

Facial expression is the primary communication. The mood of a person is always shown on the face. There are seven universally recognized shown through facial expression. The seven universally recognize facial expression are fear, happiness, anger, disgust, contemp, surprise and sadness.

Kids are the one who always easily shown the moods on their face. They will not hide what they feel. They will just show what they feel on their face. In contrast, adults always hide their feeling. They dont always show what they feel, especially sadness. This is because most of them think showing their feelings to the othets means showing their weakness to the others and this let them feel unsafe.

Observing others facial expression is important during a conversation. Because, by observing a person facial expression you can actually tells what the person feel about the conversation, and you will know wheter the person are paying attention to what you said.

Hmm.......our lecture Mr.Murali said that he will easily show what he fell on his face, I wonder wheter that is true or not. I think I need to pay more attention to his facial expression to find it out wheter it is true or not. Hehehehe........=)

- measure of yourself -

I was always wondering how good am I going to be in my future? My life, I do always looked down on myself saying that I might not succeed in big things. Sometimes even some small matter I wouldn't get it done so do big "stuff"?

sighh..

But, I do know some ways to increase my self-esteem!!
Well, I've at least learnt something..

= Attack self-destructive beliefs. Meaning?
Sometimes, words or comments that people gave me when you think that you're not that bad, you can choose not to take it, it might not be true.
= Seek out nourishing people. Meaning?
I should actually seek out to who are positive in thinking or who have a positive energy in them!!
= Remind yourself of your successes and secure affirmation.
I shall feel good about myself and keep telling myself to believe that I'm good!

**All of the following are those which I must change in myself because of lacking of those points, my self-esteem has gone so low. Thank God that I've noticed it earlier! haha.. #sing with praise#

Lastly, I know that I am not that bad, I shall really not listen to people's discouragement! I know I can do it.. hee..
